Chiropractors are medical doctors who have not bought into the pharmaceutical view of health and wellness. Rather Chiropractors take a holistic approach to health and wellness and they recognize the bodies amazing ability to heal itself given the time, mental and emotional support. A Chiropractors main concern are with the relationship of the spinal column
with the muscloskeletal structures of the body. Without proper alignment of the muscloskeletal system and the spine the bodies innate ability to heal itself is impaired. These misalignments are called subluxations in the chiropractors world. Subluxation's are sometimes painful and can motivate an individual to seek pain relief. The health of our body relies upon the balance of the autonomic nervous system, the peripheral nervous system and the Central nervous system. When the spinal vertebrae get out of alignment pressure is put on nerves which can lead to dysfunction and disease. Pain is just the bodies way of telling us something is wrong and we need to take care of ourselves. The misalignment of one vertebrae
however can have a tremendous affect on the alignment of the whole body. This can in turn create other problems and more painful conditions. A subluxation of a vertebrae can also affect organs and tissues of the body by impeding electrical impulses between the brain and these organs.
When you visit a chiropractor he will take much time and effort to identify the misalignment of the spinal column. It is not uncommon for the initial evaluation to last for 45 minutes to an hour. Attention is given to your posture, your work habits, and the nature of your complaint. Along with palpation and analysis of the spine your chiropractor will be discussing with
you the need for additional examination methods if they are needed. Your chiropractor will be concerned not only with your pain but also with the movement and coordination of your body. When these things are in balance your body has the necessary tools that it needs to heal itself. According to chiropractics subluxations rarely take care of themselves.
Therefore a fall or an injury that took place in the past will manifest itself as pain or disease. Most chiropractors believe that it is vital for your health to have your spine aligned on a regular basis just like going to the dentist to have your teeth cleaned is needed for oral health. According to a chiropractors subluxation are a result of five factors. There is the
physical factor, which includes physical trauma There is the mental factor which includes stress and the genetic factor which involves our genetic predisposition. Finally there is the chemical factor which involves toxicity from chemicals and the thermal factor which involves extreme changes in temperature. Chiropractors believe that through repeated adjustments of the spine and individual can be kept free from the subluxation factors.
Chiropractic treatment really is about preventative care as much as it is about immediate care. While many people go to a chiropractor because of neck or back pain individuals who are concerned with their health will see them on a regular basis. Chiropractic care just really makes good sense. Whenever communication shuts down problems normally occur whether that be in the work environment of a company, the parent child relationship in our home or just the communication that goes on inside our bodies. Chiropractic care keeps the lines of communication open. This allows our bodies to do what they were designed to do, take care of us. If you are concerned about your health then chiropractic treatment is highly recommended. The next problem we have though, is how to choose a great chiropractor?
