In learning to play piano by ear, you will need to have what is called perfect pitch or develop relative pitch.

Some of us are born with perfect pitch. Perfect pitch is the ability to hear a note or tone and name it. Most piano players that started at a very young age has this ability. If you started music later in life, you will develop,what is called relative pitch. Relative pitch is the ability to identify a note or tone by relating it to another note or tone.

Arpeggio- An arpeggio is a group of notes that are played one after another.
