Vacuum cleaners are a must-have in every home. They help cleanse and dust the house, which makes it a more comfortable and safer place to live in. However, some homeowners neglect one important fact about their vacuum cleaners—and that is the need to clean their canister vacuum filter.
It is important to clean the filter in the canister for different reason. For one, if you do not clean it, the cleaner will not function well. Instead of collecting dust and dirt debris, it will only make your house dustier and dirtier because of the dirty and inefficient filter. It also lessens the shelf life of your cleaner. You have to take care of it so that it lasts much longer. A dirty filter also emits bad odour that you do not want to smell in the house. These are some of the reasons why it is important to clean and maintain your equipment.
To help clean your canister vacuum filter, here are some tips to follow.
Before cleaning the soiled part, remember to empty the canister first. Remove all dirt and dust accumulated inside the canister and bag. If they are not disposable, wash them thoroughly. Just read the cleaning instructions included when initially purchasing the product.
Take off the soiled part from inside the canister. Remember to use hand gloves and cover your mouth and nose with a mask before you do this. After removing this piece, tap it against the garbage can or somewhere to remove the dust and dirt from it. You can also use a smaller vacuum to thoroughly clean it or use your fingers or soft-bristled toothbrush to remove any debris left in the crevices.
To further purify this part, wash it in warm water with mild soap. You have to check if this is safe to do. Read the manufacturer's instructions first. After washing, leave it to air dry.
Once it is dry, one can now put it back inside the vacuum cleaner. If it is too dirty and has been used many times, replace it with a new one. Check the product's manual to know the life span of the filter. Each manufacturer has their own specific instructions.
It is important to clean the canister vacuum filter regularly for a fresh and good-smelling home at all times, otherwise when company visits, they will express their dissatisfaction after leaving your home. This could be an embarrassing situation for your family.
A canister vacuum filter is needed for the vacuum to perform. Why take the chance not having one? Get your new vacuum filter now.
