Do you use a root touch-up product between color sessions? Or do you want to but don't know how to match the touch-up color to your regular hair color? Well, wonder no more because we're here to tell you how to do it.

Root touch-up products come in a wide range of colors and will match any formula out there. Clairol Nice 'n Easy Root Touch-Up comes in 16 shades. Revlon Color Silk Root Perfect comes in 12 shades. Both of these will work the same on permanent hair color and on semi permanent hair color. The results will last about three weeks.

As you try and find the match for your regular hair color, go by the name and temperature of your color shade. For example, if you're a warm dark brown, then look for a warm dark brown touch-up color. If all you can find is a neutral dark brown don't be afraid to use that instead. It's better not to have warmth on the temples, anyway.

Apply to the temples and along the root line that frames your face. When you touch up your part, be sure to include a new part a quarter of an inch on either side of it too. That way if your part changes slightly from one day to the next you won't see your roots. And it doesn't hurt to apply some touch-up to the crown area, either.

Once the color is on, set the timer and you're good to go until your next regular color session. You'll find hair color touch up kits for shades of blonde and shades of black, too.
