While you stay at the Executive Hotel in Mendoza, there is plenty of adventure activities to do in the neighboring areas of the capitol city. If you prefer exciting trips over sightseeing ones, a horseback ride in the mountain range can be a great option. In the Cuyo region, many tourism agencies organize the most complete and enjoyable horseback riding excursions to the Andes Mountain Range. Sunshine and warm climate are the perfect hosts during this incursion to the beautifully natural landscapes of this Argentinean province.
The horseback riding tour starts early in the morning, with the sun already up on the sky. The guides announce the itinerary at the excursion’s departure spot, which includes passing through the Blanco Encalda and Chacras de Coria. Thirty five kilometers away is Puerto Sosa, where you will meet the local guides and the horses. Before leaving for the mountain, you will be given some instructions about the path you should take and which posture you should adopt, according to the different slopes you will face. Then you should pick the right horse for you, and you will be ready for the journey.
The feeling during the ride, along the splendor of the landscape is something you need to experience to understand the majesty of Mother Nature. Magical views in any direction you look, in a peace silence combine gracefully with sheer narrow valleys, creeks and meltdown streams. At the Cerro del Plata’s foot there are hundred of hectares of vineyards, which will turn into the most delicious wines after the harvest. Once the Canaleta, the Manzano ravine and the Horqueta are left behind; the horses´ walk becomes slow and jaded along the steep hills. This area is almost uninhabited, but some condors can be seen up in the blue sky. As the group goes forward, the guides tell stories and anecdotes about the country life and those times when they bump into some wild animals of the region. Nothing better than an "asado" to relax and forget everything about those fierce felines. It is already midday, and a place in the middle of the rockroses jungle is chosen to have lunch. The fire is lit and the wine bottles are uncorked. The group has a rewarding meal and a nice chat before getting back to the Hotel.
