Sunny days in Cuyo Region are a gently warm invitation for visitors from all over the world, who come to stay at the Diplomatic Hotel. The weather in Mendoza could not be more perfect for one of the most important touristic poles in Argentina and South America. Permanent sunshine and scarce rains make this region an ideal holiday destination.
During the first week of March, the Grape Harvest Festival is celebrated on the first Saturday of the month. Folkloric festivals, religious ceremonies and the Grape Harvest Queen’s crowning are some of the many activities during this festivity. Lots of wine, music and artistic events throughout the festivity days make this celebration one of the most popular and cheerful in the country.
All through April and May, fall spread its charms. However, temperatures remain warm, the grapes are collected at the vineyards and wine is produced at the bodegas. The ski season starts on July, when winter has already begun and grapevines are trimmed, so they can grow stronger in next September or October.
Sightseeing tours, wine tours and outdoors excursions are some of the wide variety of activities that can be done when visiting Mendoza. Wine tasting courses and wine tours with professional bilingual guides are offered to the visitors. For those who prefer extreme sports, there are many options to try some adventure tourism, such as rafting along the Mendoza River, mountain climbing on Mount Aconcagua, horseback riding across the Andean Mountain Range, fishing, mountain biking and skiing at Las Leñas o Los Penitentes.
When the sun has set, tourists can choose one of the many high quality restaurants in Mendoza to have a nice meal. From Italian food to the Argentinean traditional barbecues, the exquisite cuisine in the city offers plenty of alternatives. Another option to consider is to have dinner at different wineries and taste the local and most delicious products.
There are several options to get to Mendoza city and then to the Diplomatic Hotel. This province has an international airport, El Plumerillo, which offers connecting flights to Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Córdoba. Mendoza can be reached by bus or car, as well. Mendoza is like a paradise on the Earth, both for its visitors and its people. Its pleasant climate along with magical landscapes and appetizing wines and meals are an unforgettable experience for those who visit it.
