The Diplomatic Hotel is the best place to stay when visiting Mendoza. Lots of tourists from different parts of the globe come to the capital every year. That is because this city combines the energy and the dynamics of a contemporary metropolis with the clamness of an historic town. Its streets are very peaceful and sound like the perfect background for a walk in a sunny afternoon. When it gets darks, many pubs and cafés are open to have a drink or eat some snacks before going to bed. As one of the most important tourism centers, Mendoza offers a wide diversity of touristic proposals. Mendoza province is located in the beautiful Cuyo region, next to the Andean Mountain Range.
Every season displays a special glow in Cuyo region. Winter brings its snow flakes, covering everything with a white soft cloak, which seems like a delicate cotton blanket. And that is the beginning of ski season. The snow trails become really crowded by skiers with several experience levels, from professionals to entire families. The options for winter sports lovers are extraordinary. The Aconcagua Snow Sky Park may be the major attraction among the extreme outdoor activities proposals. It is 2,635 meters high and offers 4 snow tracks. Los Penitentes is another ski resort, 168 km away from the capital, so it can be reached easily by car. It has 25 runs for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Las Leñas ski resort is a little further from Mendoza city, 430 km away. It has 28 snow tracks and 13 lifts for an easy access to the runs. First class accommodation can be found there, as well as the most exquisite cuisine. All these features make this ski centre one of the most popular in America.
However, Mendoza has much more to offer than snow and ski resorts. Mendoza is known as the land of sun and good wine, due to its fantastic weather and its worldwide famous wine production. The traditional Wine Route gathers together the numerous wineries along the region, so tourists can visit them and get to know the substance of the wine making process. And it is not just about looking, because they are also invited to do some wine tasting and have a more intimate connection with Mendoza’s premium products before returning to the Diplomatic Hotel.
