In the past, trade show displays were limited in their design potential by the materials used to create them. Today's innovators have revolutionized the possibilities with new lightweight construction that holds more securely than the old variety, opening up new possibilities for cosmetic add-ons. In the world of modern trade show marketing, there are almost infinite options. Learning about just a handful of them could help your booth get noticed at the next convention.
Dynamic Visual Trade Show Marketing
One of the best ways to take advantage of new technology is by using visual aids to draw traffic. Placing a TV above the heads of your potential visitors will catch their eye and make them pause to consider your booth, if not decide to head right in. You can display a silent commercial showing the use and benefits of your product, or you can simply show a demonstration. Visual additions to trade show displays are particularly useful when the product itself doesn't have a dramatic visual impact. If the item is too small, then seeing it magnified on a screen is helpful. By the same token, if the item is too large, seeing it in 3D is helpful.
Incorporate Large Items Into Your Design
If you have a large item that doesn't fit easily onto a display shelf but can be transported safely, consider making it a fixture of your trade show displays. Your first question should be whether there are any sharp edges or other dangerous elements which could harm guests. Remember how tight space will be at the actual event and plan accordingly. Roping off the area will do no good to keep people out.
Once you have determined that neither people nor your product will be harmed by having it present, ensure that the people running the convention will permit you to bring the oversized item. If so, then you can incorporate it as part of your exhibit. Position it in a featured spot, but don't place it in the middle of your booth. Always maintain good traffic flow. Have it visible above the crowd if possible.
Connect Your Trade Show Displays With Social Media
Facebook and Twitter have become two of the newest and most promising platforms for post-convention marketing strategies. Showcase your technological aptitude by having your Twitter feed live on a screen mounted within your booth. Ensure that your social networking information is posted prominently. Have your staff tell visitors that they can connect with your company via Twitter and Facebook, and encourage anyone with a Smartphone to connect immediately. This immediate connection opportunity is vital. If you can get a successful signup, you can not only track visitors at your trade show displays but also get ahead on marketing after the event. Facebook and Twitter provide similar functionality to a mailing list, but subscribing is easier and in many cases instant.
