One of the most popular tools used by many manual car washes is the pressure washer. This tool is normally used to make it easier for car washers to wash a car without having to use buckets of water to wash down their car or to simply wash off excess dirt. However, there are many other uses of pressure washer hose other than in car washing.
Uses of Pressure Washers
A pressure washer is a mechanized water sprayer which is normally used in many applications. It normally consists of a motor which directly drives a water pump, a pressure washer hose, and a trigger-gun style switch.
One popular application in which pressure washers are mostly seen is with car washes. However, these tools are also used in many applications such as to remove mold, grime, dust, mud, and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings and concrete road surfaces.
According to many experts, its high pressure form can also be used in many industrial cleaning applications requiring the removal of surface layers as well as dust-free cutting of some metals and concrete.
Another popular usage of pressure washers is with the removal of vandalism or graffiti. According to many experts, the use of high-pressure pump at medium pressure, along with the use of special chemicals, can be used to remove vandalism or graffiti from the wall.
Sometimes, the use of pressurized mixture of air/sand or water/sand can blast off the surface of the vandalized area, thus etching the surface and therefore making it extremely difficult for anyone to ever use high-pressure cleaning as a follow-up process.
Precautions
There are, however, several precautions to the use of sandblasting. This is because this process often overcleans a surface and is capable of leaving a permanent scar on the building surface.
The use of pressure washers can also be dangerous, particularly for higher pressures normally reaching 1200 bars (30,000psi) or more. According to many experts, the water pressure near the nozzle is powerful enough to strip flesh from bones, this is the reason why pressure washers normally use stronger pressure washer hose.
Objects in the water supply can be ejected from the nozzle at great velocities. The cleaning process can propel objects from the surface being cleaned, also at great velocities. Pressure washers have a tendency to break up asphalt if aimed directly at it, due to high pressure water entering cracks and voids in the surface.
