The best ways to deal with bodily decay has to do with what we put in our mouths. Since it does affect so much, first lets go over a little bit of history.

Because of modern medicine, In the 1900’s our culture has successfully defeated many of the worst diseases. For example, polio, small pox Basically the same ailments that were the culprit of so much destruction and death earlier in history.

That is the good news. The bad news is that we have new disease that are just as destructive that were not around before the 1900’s. To give you some examples, diabetes, cancer, stroke, heart disease.

Let’s talk about one of them Heart Disease which is this biggest killer today. Every day 2,500 Americans die from heart disease. Back in time around the 30's heart disease in the same country caused no more than 3,000 deaths. This fact is according the U.S. Bureau of Senses.

So what are we doing differently now that we were not doing a hundred years ago? The two things that pop in my mind has to do with the way we live our life as well as what we put in our mouth.

For example a 100 years ago we were not eating high amounts of sugars and refined carbohydrates that we are today. A carbohydrate is a carbon plus water sugar compound that plants make when they are exposed to light.

A Refined carbohydrates is a process that stripes out everything except the highly digestible carbohydrate, so it releases sugar very quickly.

What a unrefined carbohydrate does is release sugar much more slower and natural such as vegetables and fruits. What happens when a person eats carbohydrates is that their body turns it into glucose, which is basically sugar. The next process is that the pancreas turns out insulin in the blood stream to direct exactly where the glucose goes.

The first destination is the Mitochondria of a cells, which is the power plant that causes that sugar rush that makes kids bounce off walls. The left over sugar gets transformed as fat.

If someone eats a whole bunch of refined carbs, a lot of insulin gets produced in the body. What happens is cells become more insulin resistant. This is the beginning of diabetes.

Unfortunately your body produces even more insulin because of the resistance, the glucose doesn’t get turned into fat as fast, and the sugar remains in the blood stream.
