If your idea of home- entertainment revolves around a TV, radio and music system, think again!
In today’s fast evolving technological landscape, one has to remain alert to the changes happening in the technological world, as it has the potential to radically alter the way we think, work, play and entertain ourselves. My future outlook is that our entertainment habits are all set to undergo a sea change as the worldwide web has opened up new avenues of entertainment for its patrons. As more and more viewers embrace the internet and begin to watch movies online, television will be relegated to the background and the PC will leap forward, given its superior storage capabilities.
With high speed broadband becoming common place in households, users can easily watch movies and replay them at their own pace and convenience. Downloading a full-length movie from the web, which was considered an onerous task previously, is now a breeze as lightning fast downloads have replaced the bullock-cart type downloads which users had to suffer from for almost a decade.
Once you begin to watch movies online you will also wean yourself away from the habit of buying expensive DVDs from the market and save yourself from the hassle of maintaining a DVD collection free from dust, scratches and breakages of any sort.
When you watch movies online, you are saved from the hassle of storing these movies onto a disk as the movie is streamed from a server. Another option is that you can save these movies on a USB Drive and watch movies on the go, by attaching these removable drives to either a laptop or any device which has an onboard USB port.
As an informed user, you will have to take the initiative of choosing the right entertainment portal to watch movies in the online mode. Try and avoid portals that promise free downloads as such web sites have poor anti-virus aversion systems and will infuse your computer with viruses also—that too free of cost!
Just like most of my gullible friends who got carried away by the promise of free downloads and ended up repairing their hard-disks more than once, you will also end up paying more for repairing your PC as compared to the amount you would have spent on buying a subscription from a paid entertainment portal.
Safety features apart, the subscription based websites also offer a mind-boggling range of over a million English and foreign language films; something that your nearest DVD store would find hard to match for reasons of lack of space or demand.
Moreover, when you watch movies online you don’t have to bother about any kind of late fees or charges for not returning the movie on time.
Think about all what I have said above and share your views with me on this forum!
