When we have finished building our houses from the outside then it comes the time to design your home from the inside quite rightly it is said there comes a time to make a house a home. I personally like the bathroom because the kitchen is more for the ladies. So how do I make my bathroom more of a home feeling?
It’s really the big items that people will notice in your bathroom first of all. So what are the big items in your bathroom that you could put?
-
Shower cubicle
-
Baths
If you were to put a shower cubicle that is a good choice to start of with but how would you wash and bath your children? First of all children don’t like shower cubicles because it makes them feel isolated and you wont be able to bath your children in the shower without having a fair amount of water on your bathroom floor. Therefore putting a shower cubicle is just not a home feeling. To me it will send out a signal of a busy home where you do things quickly.
How ever putting a bath in will definitely make your bathroom a lot more of a home feeling, why? Because quite simply when you take a bath you don’t simply intend to spend 5-10 minutes but you rather like to spend 15 minutes plus. But even then choosing a bath for your bathroom can be a daunting task because there are so many different baths out there.
The old style baths, the free standing bath are now coming back into the trend because there are modern free standing bath. A free standing bath is quite simply a bath that is suited to go into the middle of your bathroom not like the old style where your bath would go next to a wall hidden away from the insight of your bathroom.
With a free standing bath you can choose to either have four legs either the traditional cast iron or the modern chrome legs. You can then choose the shape of the bath itself. You may go for more of a modern finish or could choose the traditional roll top style bath. What I tend to find with a roll top bath is that you require a free standing bath tap.
Even choosing a free standing tap can be a bit daunting as you can choose to either have a traditional bath filler or you can have the modern bath shower mixer tap. These type of taps will be the perfect match for the free standing bath. Although I have seen bathrooms with a free standing bath nearer to the wall and they have a wall mounted bath filler.
These are very unique as not a lot of people having water flowing out from the wall. It suit’s the bathroom with a smaller space where only the bath can go nearer to the wall and it can’t be placed in the middle like how other people would place their baths. Don’t choose the old style of baths where you have the bath panels if you are designing a modern bathroom. Go with the trend and buy a bath to suit your style of home and your bathroom.
Adam is an expert when it comes to choosing bathroom mixer taps and will give out advice for when you are shopping for your roll top baths.
