Verbier is one of the world's cult resorts, whether you are a powder seeker or a non skier, Verbier has something to offer everyone. Verbier is a great resort for children to have their first taste of skiing, as well as there being a number of quieter, safer slopes there is also a selection of superb ski schools, all of which have fantastic childcare facilities. There are also numerous non skiing activities for children to partake in and enjoy, including tobogganing and ice skating.
There are several ski schools in Verbier that will allow children as young as 4 to join their children's group lessons, allowing them to try skiing for the first time. The children's lessons are aimed to facilitate your Childs learning as well as making sure they are having fun at the same time. The emphasis is on learning in a safe and fun environment. The children finish their group lessons late morning, if however you are still out enjoying the vast skiing that Verbier has to offer, you can arrange for a nannie to come and collect the children.
There are several childcare options in Verbier including Les schtrompts, Merinannies, Chalet Service Verbier and Petit Verbier, all of which will pick your children up from their ski school lessons and keep them entertain until you are ready to leave the ski slopes. The qualified nannies can organise an activities itinerary, which could included tobogganing, making snow men, helping them develop their skiing, and they can even take them up the mountain to meet you at a mountain restaurant for lunch. If however your child simply wants to go back to the chalet and play indoors the nanny is also able to do this.
Verbier also has several non skiing activities which the children will no doubt find irresistible, one of which is tobogganing, what ski holiday would be complete without partaking in the some sledging. Tobogganing is always a huge hit and in Verbier there are 2 areas toboganning takes place: La Tzoumaz at Savoleyres and La Cot at Bruson. There are 2 marked 10km runs, you will need to hire your toboggans from one of the local ski hire shops, you can then us the ski lifts to make the assent and then it's all downhill, the children will love the thrill of speeding down the snowy run. There are also additional activities in Verbier that the children will no doubt enjoy, including ice skating, bowling and swimming.
Verbier is not only a brilliant playground for adults, but also for children, they have a huge array of skiing and non-skiing activities for the children to get stuck into. If the children are happy and having a unbelievable time then this tends to have a knock on effect and consequently the whole family have an incredible time. Verbier really is a ski resort for all ages.
