Dress for Mess With Paintball Apparel

The kind of paintball apparel required for a game depends on the type of player. If they are avid participants, they may have sophisticated equipment, but if they play occasionally for entertainment, a face mask or goggles and a long-sleeved T-shirt are enough. Beginners and intermediate players can get what they need at a sporting goods store, but advanced players can find sophisticated equipment at a specialty shop or online.
Equipment wear for advanced players includes a full mask. This is three pieces of equipment that is worn as one piece. Goggles protect the eyes; the visor stops glare and helps protect, and a hard mask protects the face, cheeks and mouth.
A chest protector will reduce the pain when a paintball hits the body. It is either padding or plates that distribute the force of the paintball. A neck protector is also useful for advanced players. Even though a hit on the throat is rare, it can cause injury.
Various padding for the elbow, knees and groin protects them from damage while diving, crawling, rolling, running and jumping. Gloves are recommended because paint under the fingernails is very uncomfortable and the trigger finger can be rubbed raw.
Tubes, harness and tactical vest are equipment that an advanced player wears to keep extra paintballs handy.
For those who are not familiar with playing paintball or only play occasionally, the apparel is more casual. Paintball is messy fun and some paintballs leave stains, so old clothes that are not suitable for work or school will be the best.
Since running, crouching and hiding are part of the fun, it is recommended to wear clothes that are comfortable and do not restrict movement. Jeans are not the best choice, but baggy pants are good. Layering is also good. A shirt with a jacket, hoodie or overall paintball suit is good, so that it is possible to adapt to the weather as well as the strenuous activity. Over layering is not a good idea, because it will restrict movement and possibly impede speed.
Shoes with cleats help with traction and are preferred but not required. Shoes should be comfortable and good for running. Old tennis shoes are also a good choice. Cycling or baseball gloves are the best to protect the hands if gloves are needed.
Paintball apparel needs to be durable to withstand rough, messy play. Polyester-cotton blends for shirts and cargo pants or hiking pants are good choices. Paintball-specific attire is required for advanced and tournament players, but durable, comfortable and loose-fitting clothing is the best for armatures and occasional players.
