In today’s economy, people must have experience in order to get a good job. Unfortunately, students right out of both high school and college are finding it increasingly difficult to start their careers due to their lack of experience. An emphasis on business and practical education has not been made by the educational system yet, meaning that the knowledge that students need to succeed despite their lack of experience is not available to them in a school setting. Goldster, a local cash for gold company, has recently decided to give back to the community by investing in business and practical experience-centered classes.
According to a recent Goldster review, Goldster is one of the top cash for gold companies in the nation. This Goldster review also stated that clients reported their experience with Goldster to be much more enjoyable, simple, and beneficial than with any other cash for gold company. Obviously, the leaders at Goldster know what they are doing. Who better, then, to teach tomorrow’s leaders how to succeed?
The donation that Goldster has made to the local high school is two-fold. First, Goldster has donated funds in the form of a sponsorship for business and career-related classes. Goldster will pay the salaries of the teachers that will conduct these classes and have agreed to offer classes in a variety of subjects. From the development of business models to the proper structure for a human resources department, all aspects of business will be covered. Of course, this cannot replace the value of actual field experience, and Goldster knows that in order to truly give these kids a fighting chance in the real world it must give them the practical experience they need to land their first jobs.
This being said, the second aspect of Goldster’s donation is through that of paid internships. Students will be hired as interns and will be exposed to all of the workings of the business. Hiring new employees, training new hires, organizing customer requests, preparing payroll, developing marketing strategies, and learning how to adapt a business model are just a few of the skills that students will be exposed to during their first week on the job. After that first week, in which the interns will rotate throughout the departments, Goldster will ask them to choose what was the most interesting to them and will permanently place them in the department of their choice.
"Our hope is that by exposing the kids to every department before they are thrust out into the business world they will get a feel for what they enjoy and will be able to gain practical experience that will help them in their job search," said Jim O’Connor, who has developed the internship program. "If the students decide that this is not for them they are under no obligation to continue their internship, but if they do enjoy the work they will be far ahead of their competition in the job market."
Instead of paying students in weekly or bi-weekly checks, Goldster is setting up an account for every intern and will match their earnings. This account is to be used as a scholarship and will help the interns as they work towards their higher education goals.
Goldster has worked hard to become a positive influence on its community and this new program with the local high school is sure to prove beneficial to all involved.
