One of the best players in the National Basketball Association today is LeBron James. He is a special player and many people that watch the sport enjoying watching him play. Nike manufactures Lebron basketball shoes at this time and many of those people will purchase them.
He has been playing in the National Basketball Association since 2003. In the years since then he has been awarded numerous accolades for his performance. He has been awarded the Most Valuable Player award on two occasions and was voted NBA Rookie of the Year after his first season. He is also a six time All-Star and in those games twice won the Most Valuable Player award. He also has been announced to the All-NBA team six years and two years has been named to the All-Defensive team.
There have been several appearances by him with the United States team that plays in various international tournaments. In the 2004 Olympics he on the team that won the bronze medal and in the 2008 Olympics he was on the team that won the gold medal. In the 2007 FIBA World Championships he played for the team that won the bronze medal.
His high school career in Akron, Ohio for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School was well documented. That unbelievable high school playing career led to him being elected to the All-USA team for three different years and the team winning state titles three times. Some of the high school games he played in were televised on ESPN2 and he was also featured on various national magazines at that time.
After graduating high school he did not attend college and instead entered the NBA draft. He was selected as the number one overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He did very well his first year as he averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game for the season. Only three other players in the history of the NBA averaged at least 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds per game in their rookie years.
Nike signed him, in 2003, to a shoe endorsement contract. Nike developed several signature products with the help of him designing them. His line has already had numerous different shoes ranging from low to high cut shoes and even an Air Force 1 brand shoe.
He has the nickname of King James and is represented as king of the jungle, a lion. His latest shoes from Nike have a new King James logo of a lion on it that really adds a new look to it. The line has the logo in several different locations on them which makes it stand out overall.
There has been a great deal of criticism tossed his way since his move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat. He has taken the criticism and used it to take his playing to high levels. This has also helped create a higher focus on his product lines being brought out by Nike and has ensured that the publicity remains high.
There have been quite a few people that have watched him play since he was in high school. Many of these people have purchase LeBron basketball shoes or other products. He is sure to be a leader in the endorsement category for many more years as he is playing at a top level.
