Greetings everyone! My name is Ashley. I have dealt with Yeast Infections for many years. Over the years I have learned a lot about yeast infections and how to prevent them. With this article, I am going to share my experiences and talk about my personal top 5 ways to prevent a yeast infection. I hope this list will help you as much as it has helped me! With that, let's get right to the list!
- Take A Bath!
This may sound like a silly tip, but taking a bath frequently is the top tip that I have learned over the years. With a bath you can get yourself extra clean, and also dry yourself off. Yeast can really develop in areas that are damp. So make sure you are dry after your shower.
- Fresh Air
Try to get your vagina some fresh air. No, this doesn't mean you should walk around the world naked! But try wearing cotton underwear or going to bed some nights without any underwear. Fresh air is one of the best things that will prevent a yeast infection. In fact, try to avoid wearing any tight clothing all together.
- Change Your Diet
This may sound silly, but it has been shown that eating one cup of yogurt a day can infact help prevent yeast infections. Yet another reason why yogurt is great to eat, right? However, if you are already dealing with a yeast infection, yogurt isn't going to make it go away. Sorry!
- Use Regular Toilet Paper
Many people that deal with yeast infections find that they aren't always using plain toilet paper. By plain, I mean, regular toilet paper that isn't scented. Scented toilet paper may sound good, but do you really want that scent going on your body? Remember, there has to be something on that toilet paper for it to be scented toilet paper. Stay away from scented toilet paper!
- Less Sugar!
This has been debated, but many people swear that eating less sugar has helped them with yeast infections. Other people insist though that there is no connection between the amount of sugar intake and yeast infections. It's possible that it simply depends on the person. That's why I recommend trying this tip out for yourself and seeing how successful it is for you.
I hope this list of my 5 top tips to prevent a yeast infection has helped. If you are dealing with frequent yeast infections, then it's possible you need to a see a doctor and this list may not help at all. However, for dealing with the occasional yeast infection, you can't go wrong with preventing them with these 5 tips. Stay clean!
Ashley has had a history of dealing with yeast infections for many years. Earlier this year she decided to create her own Yeast Infection Home Remedy blog. Through this blog, she reviews products, shares tips, and talks to others who need help with yeast infections.
