Hi everyone! If you are reading this article, you are probably looking for some ways to treat your ear wax buildup. Ear wax is very common, and a lot of people face the problem of it building up in your ear. When this happens, what should you do about it?
I have dealt with ear wax buildup for many years. It is a common problem in my family. Over the years, I have learned a lot about ear wax and specifically how to treat it. I have put together a list of 5 tips that have especially helped me in treating ear wax. I hope these tips will help you as much as they have helped me. So let's get to my list of the top 5 ways to treat ear wax buildup!
- Ear Pain?
First off, this is very important. If you are having any type of ear pain, or a type of discharge that isn't ear wax, then do not attempt to remove your earwax. Instead, it is best to see a doctor right away, as this could signify a ruptured eardrum.
- Softening The Ear Wax
Softening the ear wax is the best way to treat an ear wax buildup. By softening it, you can have the ear wax easily drain from your ear. You can soften and loosen the ear wax by using a warm mineral oil with a mix of water. The water shouldn't be too warm or to cold, ideally around room temperature. Continue using this mix and placing 2 drops of it into your ear for up to 5 days. Ideally, you should do this twice a day.
- Drain The Ear Wax!
Once you have soften the ear wax, you need to get it out. This can be accomplished by taking a nice warm shower. Make sure to get some water in your ear, and then tip your head to the side your ear is on. This will of course let the ear wax come out. Afterwards, make sure to dry your ears. Otherwise this could just lead to a future buildup of ear wax.
- Look In Your Store!
Try looking in your store for a wax softener. These are usually non-prescription and can be bought in any grocery store. They are great ways to soften your ear wax. Remember, we want to soften the ear wax, that way it will come out naturally.
- Doctor
Finally, if you can, try and see a doctor about your ear wax buildup. Doctors can easily clean your ears making you feel like new. This is by far the best way to get rid of ear wax and is highly recommended. But if you are hesitant to see a doctor, then try some of these other tips first.
With that, I hope this list has helped you and given you some ideas with removing your ear wax. If your ear wax problems still continue after a week, then I highly recommend the 5th tip of seeing a doctor, so they can get rid of your ear wax for you. I hope these tips will help you as much as they have helped me. Good luck!
