Beaches, sea and sun ... but there is more to the Seychelles, for example, parties and events of all kinds and all year round, including entertainment and culture.
Surely the Seychelles for us Europeans become a preferred destination for the winter when they are chosen as the ideal place to spend the holidays out of the routine and allowing you to escape from the cold we have been facing in this season. Not only that, a trip to Seychelles tourism can provide an all-round, ranging from relaxing on the beach to get to many events throughout the year there are just wonderful in this atoll.
Many of the events of the Seychelles are of course linked to the sea: surfing, sailing, fishing ... for example, the Seychelles Sailing Cup, in January, includes races between the islands and fishing competitions between different types of boats from catamaran to yachts, but there are also other events: for example, the Festival of the Arts, between April and May, which tends to encourage the artistic creativity of the islanders. The arts festival are eligible for virtually all of them: painting, drawing, but also music and dance, including performances, forums and workshops, visitors and exhibitors are involved in a lively and varied environment, where they have the opportunity to meet - or have known - different types of artistic expression, traditional or not. Returning to the relationship with the sea in the first days of February, the World Wetland Week is held in late March while holding the Annual Fishing Tournament of Rotary. In July, however, thanks to the large influx of tourists has become a tradition to elect Miss Regatta, the most beautiful of the beautiful inside of the island, an event that can be enjoyed even by renting villa sea.
Staying in the artistic, between May and June there is a festival of classical music, during which visitors have the opportunity to witness the execution of musical works of the greatest composers such as Mozart, Rossini and Tchaikovsky, in a setting spectacular. In late May, but the event not to be missed is the one with FetAfrik, the National Day of Africa: Seychelles every year celebrate their African culture and Creole music, dance and cuisine. It is one of the most popular events and feel the Seychelles, with its various activities for both adults and children, and her vivacity.
In religious theme however is to remember the feast of the Assumption, August 15, for the Christian part of the island, which is the largest, for the part of the island instead follows the Hindu religion is an anniversary of the Vinayagar Chadurthi, during which devotees pray for health and prosperity: the celebration is held at the Hindu temple of Victoria, the largest place of worship of the Hindu religion in the archipelago, during the month of September.
The year 2010 also saw the birth of the Chinese Festival, a collaboration with the Chinese Embassy to promote the special local cuisine and Eastern to promote holiday in the Seychelles of the inhabitants of China. Not only that, this week-long festival has allowed the local people and tourists to immerse themselves in Chinese culture through fashion, traditions and iconography of the citizens themselves.
