How to declutter your refrigerator?
My philosophy is if you want to declutter your house, you can't do it all in one day.
You have to start with small projects. We already talked about how to declutter your medicine cabinet, your cabinets in your kitchen.
This one, how to declutter your refrigerator, is a great project.
Just like with the other ones, the first thing you're going to do is take everything out of the fridge and put it on the kitchen counters.
How long can it take? It's not going to take a long time, it just can't. It can only take an finite amount of time.
Take everything out of the fridge. Then get your Windex, multi-surface, lemon scented, and clean the entire interior of the refrigerator. All the glass, walls, shelves, glass, etc. It all has to be cleaned.
Remember, dust and dirt are clutter too, just smaller particles.
You want it nice and clean.
When done, now look at the countertops, and all the food you removed from the fridge. If you have anything that will spoil rapidly, put that in the top shelf of the fridge.
Next, I want you to put any fruits or vegetables that are not rotten. I only want you to put fresh food back in. If the milk is outdated, spill it out, do not put it back in the clean fridge.
What else do you have that you took out? Take a look.
If there is anything that doesn't need to go back into the fridge, and can go in a cabinet, then separate.
Is there any food there that you don't want? You bought something and/or tried something new, but you don't plan to finish it? Then get rid of it. If it's just going to sit there and you will throw it away later, throw it away now.
Now put things back. Put things back in a neat and orderly fashion. Line things up and keep similar items together.
This is how you declutter your refrigerator.
Now do the same thing with your freezer.
If you have ice cream in there with crystals on it, throw it away. If you have an old bag of ice from a party gone by, throw it away.
Eliminate what you don't need, want or use.
Clean all the ice out of the freezer, clean it, and then put back what's fresh, what you want and what you will use.
That's how you eliminate the clutter in your refrigerator and freezer a begin to declutter your house.
