If you are one of those who are looking for wide width shoes but is not comfortable with them, there is no need to be discouraged. Wearing extra wide fitting shoes is advisable for those with bigger feet and toes which spread outwards. However, wider shoes don’t always have to be out of fashion. In fact you would be surprised how many brands have come out with wider shoes for men that look very stylish and classy, while providing relief and comfort to the feet. The biggest benefit of some of these stylish and well designed wide shoes is that they don’t always look big. Here are some tips to make your wide width shoes look smaller than they actually are.
Choose as Per the Activity
Possessing smart and cool shoes is a way of distracting others from the width. There are a lot of wide width shoe stores that offer a great array of shoes for various purposes. Whether you need leather shoes for the business meetings, the casual sandals for the evening walk or the sneakers for the morning jogging, you can find wide fitting shoes that suit your purpose. Possessing a wide collection of branded extra wide men’s shoes pulls others away from the fact that the shoes are really wide. In fact, in some cases, the branded designs do not even make the size look odd.
Closed Shoes
Closed shoes and shoes with wide toe boxes are often better than open feet sandals especially when you are intent on hiding the wide feet. An opening in the front always accentuates the feeling of wide toes, which is why you should prefer closed shoes and boots more often. Similarly, both men and women who used wider fitting shoes can choose accents like buckles, laces, straps, overlays and detailing which will make the feet appear smaller. This is a great way of avoiding attention towards the size of the shoes.
Darker Colours
If you are picking up extra wide fitting shoes, make sure you pick up the darker colours like black and brown for men and purple, maroon, black for women. Colours like white and beige often look bigger. Pastel shades too make the shoes and the feet look wider, which is avoidable. Similarly shoes which look big as such like those with massive heels and great outlining could make your feet appear, although the feet are tucked in at least half an inch inside.
Wedged Shoes
A lot of top brands offer wedged heels. The reason for this is that heels take away attention from the front of the wide shoes. Heels as such are not good for the feet, which is why wedges are preferred. Chunky heels and wedges are always preferable compared to stiletto heels which put undue pressure on the heels. Another structural factor is the toe front and rounded toes make the shoes look less wide compared to squared toes. At the end of the day, some wide width shoes can be made to look stylish in spite of their size.
