Going to work requires you to spend a lot of money. There are the costs of the car, gas, lunch, business clothes, and if you have children, the skyrocketing cost of daycare. Many moms have so little time away from the office, they spend money on convenience. They pick up fast food dinner on the way home from work and slip a few bucks to their kids to buy lunch at school. These moms enroll their kids in after school activities so the kids aren’t unsupervised when mom is still at work. All of these costs add up and need to be considered when deciding if work from home, freelance work is a good match for your family.

What would you do if you could work from home on freelance projects? What if you could set your own work schedule? Would you work when your kids are at school and play with them when they got home? Would you take care of your own baby instead of paying a stranger? Many women want the fulfillment a career brings, but don’t want to sacrifice the joy of being a mommy. Working from home provides women with the opportunity to have the best of both worlds. You can cut your bills by being available to care for your household and still bring in the income you need to support your family. How many important events are you willing to miss in your kid’s lives before you decide the cost of a traditional career is too high for you? Are you already at the point where you have missed too much of your children’s lives and are ready to work at home?

Of course you don’t want to endanger your family’s financial future by leaving a career and hoping you will be able to make it in the freelance job market. Freelancing isn’t for everyone. You have to be sure you will be able to motivate yourself to work. If the work doesn’t get done, you don’t get paid and that’s the bottom line. However, if you are a self starter who can turn in consistent, quality writing, then freelance work from home jobs are for you!

There will come a time when you are ready for a change. You will look at your family and decide you have already sacrificed too much to keep your office job. When that moment comes, consider becoming a freelancer, doing work from home jobs.
