When choosing a touch screen tablet, most people look into two of the most important things - the operating system and the technology used for the touch screen. For the operating system, apart from the iPhone Os or IOS, Android is the only choice that matters. So once you made up your mind to choose from the different Android tablets on the market, it will be high time to choose between resistive and capacitive android tablets.
Capacitive touch screens are more responsive than resistive touch screens, so if you want to have a smooth control over your touch screen tablet then you should choose between capacitive Android tablets. The choices may be few for now but a year or so from now consumers will have plenty of Android tablets to choose from with capacitive touch screen technology.
Some big name companies have opted to use Android as their tablets' operating system instead of developing their own system for the same purpose. With capacitive touch screen technology being more expensive than resistive technology, the emergence of these companies in the tablet market increases your choices of capacitive android tablets.
The Dell Streak, for example, is one of the earlier tablets in the market with capacitive touch screen. This touch screen tablet was launched on June 4, 2010. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is another touch screen tablet using capacitive technology. This particular tablet has been on the market since November 2010. The Toshiba Folio 100 launched in about the same time as the Galaxy Tab; it uses Android as its operating system and also puts the capacitive technology to good use.
The Advent Vega, a less expensive alternative to the iPad, also runs on Android OS and has a capacitive touch screen. The late generation Vega features a dual core CPU to go along with its smooth touch screen operation. The Archos 70 is yet another tablet with Android and capacitive touch screen features.
Apart from these touch screen tablets that are already on the market, another big name in the computing industry is expected to launch their entry to the touch screen tablet market. The Lenovo LePad is set to launch by summer 2011 and, yes, it will also be running on Android and will feature an easy-to-use capacitive touch screen.
With sales of tablets soaring, it is only a matter of time before the market is flooded with more choices for buyers. Android is arguably the king of tablet operating systems today and the cost of a capacitive touch screen will definitely come down, so it is not out of the question that after a year, the market will be full of affordable capacitive Android tablets.
