The Olympic movement, modeled after the English public school system, has been promoting the spirit of fair play for over a century. While Lauren is fiercely determined to become the best gymnast around, her father’s illicit relationship with his assistant distracts her more and more from her goal. Payson is another determined girl who is willing to take all measures, whether legal or illegal, in order to achieve her dream spot. There’s also Kaylie, who has a secret boyfriend in the team, and cannot come out in the open with it, as it may have negative repercussions. Finally, there’s Emily, who does not come from a privileged background like the rest of girls, but is perhaps more mature in dealing with the realities of the world around her.
