Unable to perform daily routines or normal functions to earn for living due to physical or mental illness is called disability. Such persons depend on others for daily routines or for living.
Many children are developmentally delayed due to negligence from parents. Parents are responsible to provide sufficient food, clothes, books and other necessary items for children to accomplish success in school and in life. Malnourished children are likely to suffer from growth related and brain development issues. Parents should notice developmental delay in their children and intervene at appropriate time to correct such issues by providing basic care.
The causes for developmental delay in children include nutritional problems, infection or brain injury after or during birth, poor diet, drug misuse during pregnancy or smoking or intake of alcohol, premature babies, abnormalities of genes and chromosomes and abuse of children.
The symptoms of developmentally delayed children include lack of attentiveness, aggression and behavioral problems. Some of the symptoms of developmentally delayed children can be corrected through intervention and treatment at appropriate time. Some children may come to school improperly dressed and may feel hungry. Such children cannot concentrate on studies and also suffer from growth related issues. Some children may suffer from mental illness from the infant stage. Such children may not walk properly or will face difficulties with speech.
Some children may suffer from hearing problems. Such children cannot pay attention to classes in the school. The hearing disability can be corrected through providing hearing aids. Similarly some children may suffer from eye related diseases. They should be provided medical treatment to cure eye related issues. Children suffering from hearing problems and eyesight related issues may face learning disability. Some children may suffer from brain related diseases. They exhibit unexpected behavioral problems. They cannot even perform their daily routines. Parents should always pay attention to their children at all stages of childhood to prevent any developmentally delayed diseases at the earliest.
Children with developmentally delayed issues are likely to suffer from psychiatric illness and mental health issues. They may also suffer from physical health issues. Proper health facilities, healthy diet, and proper aids to correct various developmentally delayed issues will save lives of millions of children across the world. However any of these remedies will cost the family a lot of money. To cater to their financial need the Canadian Government has the disability benefit scheme.
Parents can approach the Canadian Disability Corporation (CDC) to seek help in getting the disability tax benefits. All they need to do is just complete a form at CDC indicating all the details and nature of disability. The trained professionals at the CDC will check their eligibility to claim disability tax benefits. If they are eligible, they will process the papers to get them the entitled tax benefits to pay for at least part of the treatment expenses.
At the CDC we carefully choose the most knowledgeable and personable team members to serve you and your family. We will do our best to claim the Disability Tax Credit and any other related credits for you or a family member with a disability.
