The kitchen should be kept clean and organized at all times to eliminate many food related diseases and safety hazards. Keeping the kitchen safe and clean often necessitates a lot of effort in scraping dried food spills, dish washing, disinfecting, removing mess and a lot more.
Household chores shouldn't put a lot of strain on our time and energy. Various cleaning strategies can be applied to maintain proper sanitation in the kitchen without spending too much time in there in cleaning up mess. Performing some measures to prevent the build up of dirt and mess in the first place will definitely spare you from the tedious kitchen cleaning sessions.
-
Removing scorched foods left on pans and other cooking utensils after cooking is easy. You don't have to spend much time scraping it off by soaking it first in soapy water before washing it or loading in the dishwasher.
-
Never let unwashed dishes and other kitchen utensils gather in the kitchen sink over time. Leaving it unclean for a long time will invite insects and help in the spread of bacteria. As soon as you have finished using the dishes, immediately wash them. For large families, ask each member of the family to wash the plates after use so it doesn't pile up which makes the dish washing session so tiring.
-
The common problems with sinks are scratches and water marks. Simple advice to prevent scratches on the sink is to put a rubber mat at the bottom when washing sharp objects. Wiping the sink with a soft, clean cloth soaked in vinegar will remove the water marks on the sink and make it sparkling clean.
-
Food spills and drips, when cooking and serving, are also very common in the kitchen but often consume much of our time in removing them. Preventing spills directly on the kitchen surfaces will save a lot of your time in cleaning. Use paper towels to catch spills by laying it down in the area where you are serving food. Covering the cooking utensils, when baking in the oven, will also help to prevent food splatters in the oven.
-
To remove baked food drips in the microware oven and eliminate bad smells, heat a cup of water in a microwave safe container with lemon juice or vinegar. Keep it inside for few minutes. That should soften the baked foods that stick inside and remove any lingering food smells.
-
Keep the kitchen germ and bacteria free with the use of disinfectants. Use only natural disinfectants to ensure safety. Using disinfectant wipes is also a safe and fast way to disinfect many surfaces in the kitchen.
