Although it is a purpose-built resort of Playa de las Americas is up there in the top ten holiday resorts for British tourists The lively atmosphere and endless list of things to see and do, it's definitely not a shock that so many head to this city on the southern coast of Tenerife each year. If so many people, you are discouraged by the fact that the resort was being with tourism as its objective, why not take a look at exactly what the resort offers then decide for yourself. You may find that your idea of a purpose built Canarian port is very misguided!
There are a variety of water sports activities and equipment situated on the beaches, if you're adventurous, why not put on some jet skis or get ready to enjoy a fantastic para-sailing experience. If these are not to your liking, a relaxing sail around the coastline or a fascinating trip on a glass bottom boat, the resort does not seem to be anything special on the surface but when you observe the colourful marine life you will see why so many people come back to Playa de las Americas.
This is the usual array of bars, restaurants and nightclubs to visit during your stay. If you plan to party all night then head to the Veronicas strip, which is definitely the best place to visit. The collection of lively night clubs means that you will be hard pressed to not find something to your taste. If you prefer to relax and unwind in the evening there are lots of cocktail bars and restaurants on the beach, ideal for having a drink while enjoying the surroundings.
Golfers will appreciate the large 18-hole green that is perfect for both novice and expert players. Playback gold in Playa de las Americas is a different experience to simply enjoy a few holes in your local course, the breathtaking scenery and warm climate makes it a great experience for sporty tourists.
Ok, Playa de las Americas is typically more likely to have a broad range of McDonalds and Burger King's than any displays of ancient culture, however beneath this modern facade, there is still plenty to see and do to let you explore the history of the resort. If you are simply looking for a typical beach holiday then you will be in luck. There are many beautiful expanses of sands to sit back and relax on, with white sand and turquoise waters I can think of worse ways to pass the time!
