Landing Pages | Video

There are millions of landing pages (capture pages) out there online. Ads drive us to them every second of the day. Some pages convert, and some don’t. It has been my experience that those using effective video convert better than those that don’t.

So, what separates an effective video from a mediocre one?

Apply this formula to your landing page videos and you will see an explosion in leads that you generate. As always, test, test, test, but this formula has been proven to work across the board.

  1. State your name, and where you are from. Keep your introduction very

short. Use the "Rule of 16." Introduce yourself in 16 words that a 16 year

old could understand, and do it in 16 seconds or less. Ideally, 7-10 seconds is best since you are just trying to move quickly to the body of your video.

  1. If relevant, state "who" you are. Only do this if it is relevant to the story or theme that is carried throughout your sales funnel. If there is no relevance to your ultimate message, leave this part out.

  2. Tell them the intention of your video. "Tell them what you are going to tell

them." Give a few bullet points of what they can expect to find, and where

you are taking them in this video and the information that follows.

  1. Insert something personal, like an anecdote, observation, or a story.

The experiential approach here is to establish you as the authority about the subject at hand. It can be as simple as using the "feel, felt, found" formula."You are probably feeling…I know because I felt the same way…but, here is what I have found."However, there are some lifestyle differences between holding a job verses being a home business entrepreneur that are worth pointing out.

  1. State a clear call to action. Tell the reader or viewer specifically what

they are to do next. Make it clear enough that a 5th grader could follow your instructions with ease. If you leave this part out, your video is really mute.

There you have it: A powerful formula for creating effective videos for your landing pages. Apply these simple steps and you will see conversions rise, and as a result increase sales.

For all the time you spend to create videos, make sure they are designed to movethe viewer to action. This formula is proven, and is used by many top internet marketers today – so use it!
