Disability benefits can help individuals to get all the facilities that they are entitled to from the Canadian government.
Auditory processing is a general scientific term that is used by medical professionals to describe the process of how brain recognizes and interprets sounds. We humans hear when we recognize energy in the form of sound that travels through our ears and converts into electrical pulses and which gets interpreted by our brain. So, auditory processing disorder means that there is something wrong which is adversely affecting the interpretation or processing of the information in sound form. Auditory processing disorder has many names and it is also commonly referred to as "central auditory processing disorder". There are other names also like auditory perception problem, central auditory dysfunction, auditory comprehension deficit, central deafness, etc.
The cause of auditory processing disorder is still unknown. Our communication depends on complex perceptual information that we receive from outside through our various senses like hearing. Our brain then does the rest by interpreting it to make meaning of the information. Communications that we make are based largely on mental abilities like memory and attention. So, scientists are still in the dark. They have yet to discover how the process interacts and works and what the possible reasons for communication disorders are. However, there are certain causes of this disorder in children; attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, autism spectrum disorder, language impairment, developmental delay and pervasive developmental disorder.
The symptoms of auditory processing disorder are many. Children who are affected with this type of disorder have normal intelligence and hearing ability. However, most of them have been observed to have problems in remembering and paying attention, carrying out multiple step directions, poor skills in listening, poor academic performance, behavioral problems, difficulty in comprehension, reading, vocabulary, spelling, etc.
Auditory processing disorder leads to misinterpretation of information by the brain leading to inappropriate responses. For people suffering with this disease, tt becomes difficult to read and write. They would not be able to remember anything and this in turn makes it difficult to lead a normal life.
The Canadian Disability Corporation helps people with these kinds of disability obtain certain disability benefits.
