There is a definite trend in tablets, MP3 players, and cell phones. They are becoming alike in one sense,- they are all shifting toward the trend of having a touch screen. Keyboards are slowly dying off. Everywhere you look, touch screen tablets and cell phones as well as touch screen MP3 players are ruling the land. The futuristic and functional design of the touch screen is probably a major reason it is so widely implemented in tech devices, no matter what their function. Touch screens are simply easy and fun to use and that is why people love them.
Recent touch screen tablets like the iPad are totally and completely a touch pad. Keypads have gone the way of the dinosaurs with cell phones, and haven't appeared on the iPad and other tablet devices at all. This isn't surprising.
There are very few currently sold MP3 players that have buttons of any sort as well (except the on/off button maybe.) Touch screen MP3 players are the norm because they allow for easy access to one's music with the intuitive advantage of a touch screen. It also makes for a sleek, edgy MP3 player in a world where functionality and looks are equally important. People want MP3 players that are useful, cool, portable, and convenient.
Some high profile touch screen MP3 players include the iPod Nano, Zune HD, and the Archos Vision series. With minimal buttons and maximum touch screen, these touch screen MP3 players are becoming a hit with MP3 fans. The trend is very unlikely to revert back to the old button style we saw 10, even 5 years ago.
The new generation of touch screen tablets is taking the tech world by storm. No buttons, only a touch screen! Tablets are a great in between device for times when both a smartphone and laptop aren't quite what you need to complete a task. Touch screen tablets have the power of a laptop jam packed into the portability of a smartphone. They can also play HD videos, music, and do so much more. It is no wonder tablets are enjoying such widespread success among tech enthusiasts.
The death of the button has officially arrived and has given way to the birth of the touch screen. We are unlikely to see many buttons on any tech devices from now until the future. The touch screen has been far too successful to go away. Buttons: RIP. Welcome to the world of touch screens.
