The use of portable cooling and heating systems in the business arena has become quite popular in recent years. Their popularity is because of the maneuverability of the units. Portable air conditioning is used by businesses in their warehouses, places where perishables are stored, or any other place that needs cool air or heat. Some offices don't have central cooling, or any windows to place a window unit. A portable unit can solve that problem. Employees that have good working conditions do a better job.
Not all portable units have heating and cooling, so do thorough research before purchasing one of these them. These portables run on electricity and they are small enough to be moved from one location to another. They usually roll on wheels that will easily move on carpet. One notable point is that the entire building doesn't have to be cooled, just one room if needed. This can really cut down business expenses in the utility department.
Selecting the right British Thermal Units (BTU) for the job is important. BTU is the cooling capacity of the air conditioner. The higher the number, the better it cools. Most portable air conditioners will not cool more than 525 square feet, and those are the big units. For a larger space more than one may be required. Business owners love these units because they make it easier to regulate the temperatures is the workplace.
Features are important when selecting the right air conditioning system. Does it have a dual hose? Some people like the dual hose option because it draws fresh air in, and then the stale air is pushed out.
Another feature most units have is a remote control and several speeds for the fan. They will never be as cool as sitting under a refrigerated system, but they definitely cool things down. Last, but not least, save money by getting one with a timer on it. Timers can be set to come on early, to get the room cool before employees get to work. Starting the coolers earlier in the day, before heat as taken over, makes it easier for them to cool the space.
The newer models run on a system similar to the old swamp cooler. They use evaporation technology. There is a reservoir of water in the system which is used to cool the air through evaporation. Some models can have a dehumidifier on them. This really helps in muggy climates. Businesses now see the value in these units and how they really deliver in unusual circumstances. Portable cooling and heating is one great way to control business temperatures.
