Previously the mode of communication was confined to the long distance calls and the letter sent through the postal department. These conventional forms still exist, however in this era of tremendous speed and acceleration the thought of sending mails that will take weeks to deliver is simply inconceivable. With the advent of internet, technology’s wonder child, the scenario of global communication has undergone a paradigm shift. The communication that required a long and impatient wait earlier has now become accessible in a matter of seconds. The botheration of writing down a letter and then going to post it can be easily avoided with a flexing of muscles and a click on the mouse. The online mail transfer that has eased up life to a great extent is made even smoother with the SMTP relay services. The SMTP server ensures that the mail sent reaches the targeted recipient without fail.
The SMTP server plays a very integral role in the process of online communication. In fact it is the root, on which the entire communication system thrives. Right from the sending of the mail up to the point of delivery and the report being send to the user is completely catered to by the SMTP server. The process though apparently simple, in reality, involves quite an intricate process. The mail that is send by the individual user is initially got and stored by the mail server of the respective user. Post that step the mail server seeks out the location of the targeted recipient’s mail server. Once that is located the mail that had been stored in the user’s mail server is sent to the recipient’s mail server. Once the mail reaches the destination, the server triggers of a delivery report intimating the user of the same.
However one problem that arose despite the expert execution of the SMTP servers was that of the entry of numerous unnecessary mails. This resulted in congestion in the inbox. Owing to this lack of space the respective individual stands the risk of delayed delivery of certain important mails as well. Moreover certain individuals send spam mails in order to hamper the daily course of work. This problem gradually began to pose as a real hindrance and as a resort to this problem emerged the ISP blocks. The ISP blocks filtered out the required mails and restricted the others. In fact the ISP blocks filtered as per the given circle of networks. Any mails send from or send to individuals out of that networks are restricted by the ISP blocks. The SMTP relay services stepped in here as sometimes this extreme streamlining of mails also led to a problem.
The SMTP relay services takes care that the mails that come from or go to connections outside the selected network find a way to reach the inbox. The mails those are generally harmless in nature and will create no spamming are passed by the SMTP relay services. This service in no way intends to hamper the mode of operation of the beneficial ISP blocks, only takes care so that the ISP blocks don’t pose as a problem.
Therefore the role of the SMTP relay services is as integral to the communication system as it is to the SMTP services. It gives the respective individual the power to survive in the world of cut throat competition, without getting thrown out. The key to one’s success lies in the pace one possesses.
