Often labelled the party island of the Spanish resorts, there’s more to Ibiza than meets the eye. True, the island does play host to some of the biggest party events in the global calendar both on the water and on terra firma, but there’s another, slightly less well known side to this island. The old town and the Plaza del Parque are also great places to sit and watch the world go by or to shop ‘til you drop. Take the short drive to the nearby beach in Talamanca if it’s a bit of beach-life you’re after, or use your hire car to really get to know this varied and intriguing island.

When it comes to wining and dining, lamb, fish, chicken and sardines feature highly on the local Ibicencan menus, as well as rabbit which also features from time to time.
