Without any doubt through the history the city of Palermo, the most important city of Sicily, has always been a cross between north African culture and the European one.A particular land that has always surprise for its beautiful landscapes, beaches and monuments those has been inspiration for poets and writers. Palermo has been the land of conquest of various populations: from the people of Crete to the Greeks, from the Phoenicians to the Romans, from the Byzantines to Arabs, from the Normans to the Swabian, from the Angevines to the Aragonese. Each of this population have left us some extraordinary monuments, that are worth visiting on a tour of the city.
