Choosing a new washing machine can turn into a daunting task. There are many different types on the market today with many different features. If you need a washing machine for your family, what type do you buy? Here are some things to consider when you need to choose the best one for your family.
Two types
There are main two types, top loader and front loader. Top loaders are usually cheaper. They can be loaded from the top, and more clothes can always be added later. Front loaders will cost more, but they use less water and less energy. Many of these are considered energy efficient. They also use less detergent. However, you cannot add more clothes or water once the machine is running.
Drum size
You will also need to consider the size of washing drum. If you have a relatively small space to work with, you should be looking at narrower models or stacked washer and dryer combinations.
Washers also come in different load capacities. This is the weight of the clothes when dry. A 4 kg loader is generally good for a single person and 5 kg is fine for 2 people. If you are buying a washer for a family, you will need 5.5 kg or larger.
Spin speed
You might also want to think about how the washer will spin. This is an important factor in how quickly the clothes will dry. If the speed of your motor is higher the more efficient the spinning will be and the drier your clothes will be. If you do not have a drier at home, then a spin of 1000rpm is good to make your clothes as dry as possible.
Some washing machines have different programs as well. Some have delayed starts, short cycles, and anti-wrinkle programs.
Noise
Another important thing to look at when buying a new machine is how noisy it is. Especially if your machine will be in a location in your home where people will be, you will want something quiet. If the machine will be somewhere out of the way or in a separate room, then noise may not be that much of a factor.
Finally
There are many choices to look at when you are in the market for a new washing machine. There are many factors for you to consider, from how the washing machine is loaded, how big it is, how much it holds, and how fast it spins. Many machines will also have extra programs that may or may not be useful to you. Consider all these features and you will be able to find a washing machine that is perfect for your family.
