Two Heroines Monument
Two Heroines Monument is Phuket's most famous monument, situated in Amphoe Thalang. It was constructed in the memory of the brave Thao Thepkasattri (Kunying Jan) and Thao Sisunthon (Mook), who, in 1785, had gathered islanders against Burmese invaders.
Thalang National Museum
Thalang National Museum is located near the Two Heroines Monument. Built in 1985, at the time of the 200th anniversary of the Thalang War, the museum holds a permanent exhibition of life in old Phuket, ancient artifacts, remains discovered on the coast and materials used during the war with Burma (Myanmar). Timings for visiting are between 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. every day, except for national holidays.
View Point
View Point is situated mid-way between the Nai Han and Kata beaches. Few other picturesque locations, which can be enjoyed from this point include Kata Noi, Kata and Karon beaches, and Ko Pu Island.
Hat Patong
Known as Phuket's most developed beach, Patong is situated 15 kilometers from the town. The Hat Patong has all the facilities for unlimited leisure, sporting, shopping and recreational activities for the tourists to enjoy along its 3-kilometre long crescent bay during Phuket Island Tours. In addition, many daytime activities are also popular like Windsurfing, snorkeling, sailing, swimming, and sunbathing. Patong is also well-known for its bustling nightlife, and exotic seafood restaurants.
Laem Phromthep
Laem Phromthep is a peninsula that is located at the southernmost tip of Phuket. Phromthep translates to give the name of Brahma God-the Hindu deity. Local villagers of the region used to refer to the cape as "Laem Chao," or the God's Cape. Its exquisite beauty leaves the tourists spellbound.
Wat Chalong
Wat Chalong is the place where the cast statue of Luang Pho Cham stands. Luang Pho Cham helped the people of Phuket to put down the Angyee, or Chinese Coolie Rebellion in the year of 1876. The statues of Luang Pho Chuang, and Luang Pho Cham, are the other highlights of the place.
Hat Karon
Hat Karon is the second largest tourist Beach of Phuket Island. White sand, which makes a squeaking sound when walked upon, is a major highlight of this tourist spot. Moreover, there is a bevy of restaurants and tourist stores right across the street. In addition, the southern point has an excellent coral reef stretching toward Kata and Bu Island.
Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Conservation Development and Extension Centre
The ‘Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Conservation Development and Extension Centre’ promotes the wildlife within the Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Park. The park has evergreen virgin forests that are home to a number of wild animals. In addition, it is a center for studying the environment and the forest vegetation.
Apart from these hotspots, there are many other tourist attractions to look forward to, in Phuket Island. The Island is well connected to mainland Thailand by a bridge.
