What the company did was take the K7 and implement new engineering designs in the areas mentioned above. The K7 served as a starting point which is something very commonly seen among camera makers. What you can expect in the K5 are ease of use with an expanded feature list. If you like to perform photo customizing, then you do need to take a very close look at the new functions introduced with this camera. The capability for lower ISO applications does excel over other popular models. Also, the auto-focus will prove to be very quick and accurate for all your needs. Manual focus is the only option with video, so that may or not be a problem area for you. The Pentax K5 DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera does have more refined improvements as opposed to major overhauls in certain areas. You would not expect a digital SLR to focus heavily on video features. If you need audio for your videos, then there are provisions for an external microphone.
