Whether you’ve had eczema for any length of time, or you have just recently been diagnosed with adult eczema, you are probably willing to try just about anything to get relief from the itching and red, dry skin. However, when you read a claim that you can beat eczema in 10 days, and do it without drugs, you are undoubtedly a little skeptical, but it can be done.
If you ask your doctor, he’ll probably say, "Beat eczema in 10 days? Nope. No way you can control your eczema without drugs. There is no cure. Here, take these steroids." He may not know that there are many safe non-drug alternatives you can use, or if he does, he may not put any stock in them.
The first thing you need to do is figure out what’s causing your eczema. The most common cause is allergies, and this isn’t limited to grasses and pollens. You may be allergic to things that will truly surprise. Our environment these days is filled with all kinds of chemicals and toxins. Getting some allergy tests is a good first step in beating your eczema.
While you’re waiting for the results of the allergy tests, look at the products around your house that you use for cleaning and personal hygiene. You may be sensitive to some of these products and not even know it. Replace the ones whose ingredients contain long, unpronounceable chemical names with products containing natural ingredients. Natural means it’s from nature, and if it’s a chemical, it isn’t natural.
Even if you don’t have any food allergies, it’s a good idea to change to an all-organic diet. Non-organic foods contain trace amounts of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. These actually get into the foods and cannot be washed off, so every time you eat a non-organic piece of fruit or vegetable, you are ingesting small amounts of these toxins, which build up in your body over time. Non-organic meats may contain growth hormones and antibiotics, which also can build up in your body. Organic foods aren’t treated with these poisons.
To rid your body of these accumulated toxins, you may want to do a cleanse. A cleanse will remove toxins from your liver, kidneys, and other organs. Work with a naturopathic health professional to put together a good detox plan. At the same time you will also want to start a regimen of herbs and supplements to rebuild your immune system, which has been compromised by the build-up of toxins in your body.
As you eliminate the allergies that the tests reported and take these other steps to restore your body to its best health, start the clock. You will find that your eczema will begin to clear up. You will itch less and your skin won’t be red and flakey. Understand that this is a regimen you should maintain for the rest of your life, but it benefits not only your skin but your overall health. And you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you did beat eczema in 10 days.
