With more performing arts festivals in Orlando than anywhere else in North America, seven major theme parks and many second-tier attractions that cater to public performances, Orlando is the perfect destination for student group music tours. Student music travel is growing more rapidly than any other type of group travel to Orlando. Middle school, junior high and high school bands, choruses, or orchestras have many options with Orlando attractions being so music friendly.
OrlandoFest, the newest and most exciting performing arts festival in Central Florida, just completed a highly successful inaugural year. This music festival is designed for middle school, junior high and high school concert bands, parade bands, vocal and instrumental jazz ensembles, orchestras (both full and string only), concert choirs, chamber and specialty choirs, show choirs, percussion ensembles and auxiliary units. Music directors have the option between competitive or non-competitive adjudication before nationally renowned adjudicators in a cutting-edge performing arts center. Fabulous Signature Workshops are offered and the fun-filled awards ceremony is held at Universal Studios Florida®.
At the Walt Disney World® Resort, music ensembles have wonderful opportunities to perform in varying locations within Disney’s theme parks or at Downtown Disney via Disney’s Performing Arts OnStage program. Students can work with Disney entertainment professionals in Disney’s Performing Arts Workshops which are designed to strengthen performance skills in a 2 to 3 hour session. Festival Disney is the premier music festival that gives directors a choice of competitive or non-competitive adjudication options. Other programs, such as Disney Honors, a prestigious non-competitive invitational that caters to the foremost high school band and choral programs, is the preeminent music festival that is distinctly Disney.
At the Universal Orlando® Resort, student music groups have the option to perform in Universal STARS. This program provides music ensembles the opportunity to perform at Universal’s CityWalk® and caters to bands, choruses, orchestras and dance ensembles. SoundWaves at Sea World® also offers fantastic performance opportunities for student music groups where your ensemble will have the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of spectators.
Lastly, student music travel to Orlando would not be complete without performing at a second-tier attraction including Wet n’Wild, Kennedy Space Center, Arabian Nights, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament and local malls among many others. Why not give your music group an exciting musical experience to Orlando, the nation’s hot spot for student music tours?
