Do you ever get tired of going on diet after diet and your taste buds suffering? There is a way to eat delicious food and still be on your way to healthier living. Athletes use the Paleo way of eating year round in order to stay fit and healthy, and the best part is that there are recipes that are easy and delectable. Whether you are trying to lose weight, reduce health risks, have a wholesome pregnancy, or just simply gain energy and vitality, Paleo is the choice that makes the most sense.
I have often times wanted to lose weight and become a healthier being, attempted it, and then proceeded to fail miserably. My love for mouth-watering and robust home cooked meals has been the culprit for failure time after time. If you can relate with what I am talking about (and quite possibly, even if you can't) then I am about to let you in on something spectacular that I discovered that will change your life.
Paleo cooking is based upon the nutritional approach of the hunter-gather ways of our Paleolithic ancestors. It was first introduced in the 1970's and has since been adapted several times to be fit with different individual needs. It is supported by several different studies and backed by doctors worldwide. The best thing about this nutrition plan is that it is safe for all ages and most any condition. It is great for those of you who have diabetes or are borderline diabetic and are trying to keep from crossing that line. If you are pregnant, this is a great base to stay healthy and keep from gaining too much weight. For those of you who are athletes and want to get the extra energy and have your body recover faster from workouts, this is for you. If you are wanting to shed some inches, Paleo is the way to go. If you are exercising and just can't seem to get those extra pounds to budge, this is your answer. The Paleo nutritional plan is not a 'diet' so much as it is a new way to eat, a new way to live.
This 'diet', for lack of a better word, is based upon the way that our ancestors used to survive. Whole, unprocessed foods become your best friend. Fruits, vegetables, lean protein, nuts, seed, and whole foods are what this diet allows. Eggs, wild game and fish, poultry, and grass nourished beef are all among the recommended proteins. As for energy containing carbs, you are encouraged to obtain those from natural foods such as fruits and vegetables. You want to amplify your amount of vitamins and minerals by choosing fruits and vegetables in an assortment of colors. Berries, bananas, and citrus fruit are all recommended for some of your fruits, while peppers, asparagus, and carrots are among the vegetables that are recommended. Paleo also covers your healthy fats with the nuts and seeds, with walnuts, almonds, and sunflower seeds being some of your excellent choices. Other certain food groups such as bread and pasta, milk, yogurt, and cheese, are excluded on the strict Paleo plan.
Of course, there are changes that you have to make in the foods that you absolutely avoid. You cut out your grain based products, which, for many individuals, can be difficult to digest. The grain based products are some of the nasty little culprits that leave you feeling hungry an hour or two after eating, even though you consumed plenty of carbohydrates to hold you over. Without the grain based products in the meals, you are left feeling full longer. Also in the strict plan, dairy is restricted, but some of the reformed versions allow it in small portions.
Something else that you may be very happy to hear is that this is not a plan where you have to measure or weigh portions, as you determine how much you need to eat, therefore, making it a much easier to stick with. You will get full and stay that way, essentially eating less, and living healthier.
Now that you have discovered this amazing nutrition plan, take the first step towards a better you and try going Paleo!
