Free after rebate products
Rebates are cash-back offers that buyers may obtain after filling out a form or in exchange for a promotional code or a promotion. Usually you will get a check in the mail or a pre paid debit card. If the rebate is as much as the original price of the product then the product is known as the free after rebate product.
There are three reasons why these offers seem sensible for the organizations and the customers. - Minimal risk on the marketing This is a win-win scenario: businesses can introduce new items to their customers and test the feedback while having to pay less than traditional advertisement costs. Moreover, lots of customers can get the product simply because it's free, and may appreciate it so much that they will keep on buying it. On the other hand, it is also great for consumers: they get to test the merchandise for free or a fraction of the original price.
-
Gets customers in the store. This type of sale could be a good way of expanding a store's subscriber base. Many people will get the free item and they will also spend more cash on other items that aren't on sale. Overall, sales will go up. A lot of overpriced products may sell as a result of extra exposure.
-
Not everyone requests the rebate. Rebate offers typically demand a little work on the consumers part which many people are reluctant to do. The customer has to fill in a form, fill in some surveys and mail it in due time. A lot of people forget to do it, so the store even gets revenue from these products.
I really believe you know the old saying "there is no free lunch, you have to pay the pepper!". While statistics say many people forget to send in the forms or buy other products from the store, you can defeat the system and get your product free of charge.
-
Make sure you beat the deadline. Mark it on your calendar if you must so you do not forget. Even better, if you are shopping in an offline store, complete it immediately and have the sales assistant register it for you. -
Stay away from shady retailers. Some fraudsters may offer low-valued items at no cost in exchange for your personal details. Do not give your personal information to small corner stores or small websites.
