Modern day life has come to view walking as an indication of some kind of limitation. If you are walking down the road towards the grocery store, do not be surprised to see neighbors pull over and ask you if your car broke down and if they can help. Indeed, for many, walking means that you do not have a car.
Studies have however shown that one of the most beneficial things that you can do for your health is simple walking. A brisk 25 or 30 minute walk every day has great physical and psychological benefits. If you have a car and you drive all the time, its time you left it parked and took a walk to places that are close to you. If you have a park or a train near you, make use of it by taking daily walks. Lets have a look at the physical benefits of walking.
As you walk, you burn calories especially in the lower areas of your body. This means that walking alone can help you lose weight to some degree. If you have been struggling with diets and have not had time to exercise, or if the whole gym routine does not appeal to you, include walking in your schedule and you will see a change.
Walking is great for your heart. The more you walk, the more your cells need increasing amounts of oxygen so that they can burn up energy to supply your muscles. This comes through blood that is pumped from your heart. The faster you walker, the longer you walk, your heart is working hard to supply you with oxygen. Its muscles get stronger and you are less likely to get heart problems that are related to weak vessels or heart muscle.
Do you have problems working up a good appetite? A walk is one f the best ways to increase your appetite levels. As you walk, you burn energy and your body seeks to replenish it soon after. Since you get energy from the food you eat, you will find that you have worked up an appetite.
If you suffer from joint problems like arthritis, it means that your joints do not get sufficient blood flow to provide nutrients that would increase joint mobility. Walk for half an hour each day studied have shown that although it may be painful to start with, in a few weeks the condition of your joints is much more improved
Lets have a look at the psychological benefits
People who walk for exercise are less likely to feel depressed. As you exercise, hormones are released through your pituitary gland that will make you feel much happier and you become less prone to depression.
A connection with nature is uplifting to most people, so if you feel like you want some quiet time to reflect and get things in perspective, try taking a walk.
The more you walk, the better you will sleep at night. In addition to the exhausting exercise which will make your body demand rest, research shows that the more you are exposed to natural light in the day, the more likely you are to sleep better at night.
Its time to take that walk now!
Promoting healthy stile of life ! Start walking and change your life forever !
