Wisconsin Dells is Stupendous for Spring Break
Not only is Wisconsin Dells the official world’s waterpark capital, it’s also the unofficial spring break capital of the Midwest. What is that ranking based on you ask? Sheer popularity! Parents with children from high school age on down find the Dells to be exceedingly family friendly and a good value, thanks to the nice variety of Wisconsin Dells hotels and motels in the area, to say nothing of the indoor waterparks that mimic southern climes (without all the college kids that is). Check the school calendar for spring break timing in your area, then check this list of all the things to do in the Dells.
Just for Kids in the Dells
We get asked all the time which Wisconsin Dells attractions and restaurants are especially suited for kids 10 and under, so we thought we’d take this opportunity, prior to Spring Break, to toss out some suggestions. For classic Dells attractions, you can’t beat the Tommy Bartlett Exploratory – Interactive Science Center with enough gadgets and doodads to keep the kids occupied for hours. For budding artists, there’s Paint It! Pottery Shop. Bet you didn’t know there’s a kids’ spa at Great Wolf Lodge – it’s called Scooops (yes, it’s three o’s, no misspelling there) where the manicures and pedicures are ice cream-themed. For dining, try Buffalo Phil’s Pizza & Grille, where the food is delivered to your table by miniature train. For dessert, Goody Goody Gum Drop is as sweet as it gets. There are Wisconsin Dells water parks geared to the younger set as well.

Dells for Grown-Ups
Vacation Without the Kids
We provided ideas for families traveling with little ones so, in the spirit of fairness, how about some ideas for visitors vacationing in the Dells without kids? The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel did a bang-up job offering suggestions for couples and groups of friends looking for a grown-up getaway. We also took to Facebook to find out what our fans considered their favorite Wisconsin Dells’ experience when it was just grown-ups in the group. It’s a great mix of dining, spas, shopping, golf, scenery, nightlife, gaming and, oh yes, waterparks!
Celebration Vacations
Take the Celebration on the Road
It started with family reunions, then destination weddings, and has simply taken off from there. We’re talking about celebration vacations in Wisconsin Dells. Last year we asked visitors to share their stories of celebrating life’s milestones in the Dells, and their e-mails had us alternating between laughter and tears, each one more heartwarming than the next. And if you’re in the early planning stages of a celebration getaway, say for a birthday or anniversary or significant family reunion, then let the Wisconsin Dells visitor bureau group travel team be your guide to a Wisconsin Dells getaway you won’t soon forget.
