Legacy Systems are traditional software applications were in all cases customized versions designed to meet a specific set of client requirements.
The process involved cloning a core application and then an IT team would delete the parts the client didn't need while updating the clone to match any new client features and specifications. These "legacy" solutions still make up over 90% of what is in use today at a client level and the downsides of legacy applications while many include:
• Long development lead times to launch a client program
• IT required to make any new changes, updates or adding new module
• Legacy systems are not connected so no reusability for any client code updates
• All new client updates are costly and time consuming
In short "Legacy" solutions are slow and costly to launch, update and manage versus SaaS a solutions which have been dubbed the "Ferrari of the Performance Industry" and who doesn't want to drive a Ferrari especially given the pace of the business world today!
Many large Performance companies have made the decision to migrate their client solution to SaaS technology because it is much more affordable than traditional software to maintain plus it is far faster to implement.
In short, SaaS makes both your company and your clients far more efficient and most SaaS technology providers also provide a full IT technical support team which can also help to reduce your companies overhead as well.
SaaS solutions exist for Performance Industry and applications including:
• Employee Recognition
• Performance Improvement - metrics based incentives targeting direct sales, channel and dealer
• Consumer Loyalty
• Global Reward Management
• On-line Training and more
SaaS technology is revolutionizing the way the Performance Improvement, Loyalty and Reward Management Industries are now managing their incentive, recognition, training and reward management technology. Many organizations have come to realize that managing client incentive programs whether they are large or small, local or global is far more cost effective through a SaaS solution and this also makes SaaS solution providers far more competitive than their "Legacy" counterparts.
