You remember those years when you were young, playing with that favorite toy John Deere tractor? You pushed it around the yard while you pretended to take control of your huge farm. You had cows in the fields, a barn with horses and a corral nearby with several more, the tall silo – even though you weren't sure what a silo was all about. Your homemade farm had all the bells and whistles of a real one, thanks to the grandparents who bought you each piece of equipment and farm buildings that they knew you needed to lay out a proper farm.
You were the king of the hill when you got out the large tractor toy painted in John Deere green – it was the only tractor you would play with. Even though you had other John Deere toys to use on your farm, the tractor was the favorite of them all. Dragging attachments around the back 40 acres, you would stop the tractor by a fence that needed repair and put the fence back in order. You lived a complete life in this farm.
The fun of those days. When imagination ruled your play time. You created the farm, built fences, planted crops, rode the horses, all while wearing that worn-out straw hat that was the proof of your farmer status. More and more John Deere toys made it into your barn, so you built a second barn just to store your farm equipment. From tillers, earth-movers and every other piece of equipment you could get your grandparents to buy, you were able to create a complete farm, even using your own backhoe to dig a pond for the animals in the pasture.
And when you put your animals in the pasture by the pond, you surveyed the area from one of your newer tractors, but you always came back to the one that started it all.
Oh the memories--memories of that great toy John Deere tractor. You still reminisce about them today. As you pull them from the basement toy box, you know that your son and daughter will enjoy them as much as you did. Looking forward to teaching them about building a farm, you notice the John Deere green paint has not faded, even though there are dings and dents in the many pieces of farm equipment thanks to all the use you got out of them.
Passing this tradition of imaginative play to your children is one of the most powerful things you can share. Dreamers – this type of play is what gives our society dreamers. The act of building the farm and creating a story around the experience is something that will stay with them for years, just as it has stayed with you. The timeless nature of the toy, John Deere farming toys, will help your children to live beyond their own existence. Creating their own story is something they will not forget.
The things of the imagination help us to reach beyond ourselves. The great adventure – the farm toy – John Deere makes it happen, generation after generation.
