Tag Heuer is a brand the roots of which go back to 1860 when Edouard Heuer built his own workshop. The main target of Edouard was quite obvious – to create timepieces that could perform precise timekeeping. The company became famous as an "avant-garde of watchmaking" as concerning the technology, high-quality materials and unique original design.
For many years the brand focused itself on the world of sports, which is why some Tag Heuer collections include timepieces with various sports designs and functions. Together with the worlds of sailing, skiing and formula 1 the company was able to create watches like: Carrera, Monaco, Chronosplit Manhattan, 2000 series and many others.
A well-known models from Tag Heuer's 2000 Series is entitled Tag Heuer 2000 Automatic. The case is brilliantly done; its matte bezel has polished tabs – this design thus has a nice contrast. The back of the model is screwed down. It is embossed with the brand's shield as well as the number of the model and serial number. The timepiece is also water-resistant up to 200 meters.
The color of the Tag Heuer 2000 Automatic is dark blue and it is slightly textured. Besides 12 o'clock all other markers are baton shaped. The 12 o'clock marker itself is a tritium filled Arabic "12". As for the hands of the watch these are Mercedes hands. In the dark the watch is very legible, even the seconds hand can be seen ticking away.
The bracelet is made similar to the Rolex Oyster one. The links situated in the middle are polished and the outer links are matte. Generally the bracelet is comfortable. The clasp on the bracelet is quite tight, sometimes even too tight.
The company used ETA movement with 25 jewels with 28,800 bph. The Tag Heuer 2000 Automatic has a 42 hours power reserve, instantaneous date corrector and an accurate timing device. For a non-chronometer the watch shows high precision timekeeping, about 5 seconds per day.
The watch is very durable; it is able to suffer serious physical impacts and under water motions. The design of the watch surely won't win any awards but at least the timepiece will look great at your wrist. Some designs of Tag Heuer watches are much better than those of the other brands.
This model will definitely suit you since it will last for a very log period of time and it is surely not the watch the price of which is high because of its brand name. The functionality, durability and design are the main features that form the price of the watch.
Being involved in various sports Tag Heuer knows how to create watches for various sports, to make them long lasting and at the same time beautiful in design. The brand's marvelous timepieces dedicated to the world of sports are included in the famous collections like: Aquaracer, Monaco, Tag Heuer Formula 1, Link, Carrera and Micrometer.
