What is the best way to diet? If you type in diet on your internet search bar you will probably get around 210,000,000 results, from every type of diet low fat, low carb, detox, Atkins, vegan, vegetarian etc. The problem with dieting is that most people start and stop diets faster then they go threw a drawer of socks.
Why people diet?
People diet for many reasons; they feel pressured to look a certain way because of how TV and magazines portray body image. Some want to diet to help lose weight to build self confidence or take the extra baby weight they put on, or to improve their health after suffering from a heart attack or stroke. For what ever reason people all over the World are starting new diets everyday and with all the different options it is hard to find the best way to diet that will give the maximum benefits and keep the weight off for the longest period of time.
What are different types of diets?
Let's take a look at a few of the different types of diets;
" The Low carb diet is a broad term, it is used in many different types of diets like the Atkins or the South Beach diet, and basically it is reducing your intake of carbohydrates, like wheat, sugar, white rice and potatoes.
" Vegetarian diet consists mostly of plant based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts etc. this diet consists of non-meat food sources and because of this usually contains less fat and cholesterol.
" High protein diets have become more popular over the last few years as carbohydrates are linked to high glucose and the crash factor, where your blood sugar spikes and then drops quickly and you feel as if you need to sleep, also your body stores more carbohydrates as fat. High protein diets usually consist of low to no carbohydrates. The obvious goal of high protein diets is to eat as much protein and as little sugar, starch and wheat as possible. Though protein diets are good you don't always get enough of your daily fruits and vegetables.
After looking at just a few out of hundreds of different types of diets that you can do the question still is, what is the best way to diet? The first thing you should do before starting any new diet or fitness regimen is to speak to a doctor or health professional for guidance. Also you should do as much research on the diet that you have chosen and find out the benefits and side effects of it. But in my opinion and I am not a doctor is to eat in moderation all the foods in the different food groups, and exercise regularly. Eating healthy is a great way to feel good about you.
