Watching videos on the Internet was first possible thanks to streaming media software such as Windows Media Player, Real Media Player and QuickTime Player, and the development of many other stream media technology contributed to the actual boom that online video sharing is enjoying today. Windows Media Player is a multimedia framework developed by Microsoft, hence the default media player packed with its Windows operating system since 1991 when Windows 3.1 was launched.
Originally created to play audio files, in 1996 it incorporated a new technology called ActiveMovie that allowed for the first time stream video files and certain type of graphic animations. As new improvements to this framework took place, the deployment of DirectShow, ActiveX and DirectX made possible the support for more and more multimedia file formats and live audio and video broadcast. Today Windows Media Player is capable to connect, synchronize, and share data with other computers, websites, portable handheld devices, and game consoles.
With similar concept in mind, Real Media Player is a multimedia container developed by RealNetworks as an alternative to Windows Media Player with support for its default media files, but creating a new format knew as ".ram" or ".rm" that stands for Real Media and delivers both RealAudio and RealVideo files. Real Media Player, or simply RealPlayer, was first available for download in the 1990s and it is today a multi-architecture, cross-platform media player that supports many audio and video formats besides its proprietary formats.
Last, but not least, QuickTime Player is the original multimedia framework developed by Apple and packed with the Mac operating systems, although Apple also developed a downloadable or CD version for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Despite QuickTime players has been able to display various file formats including animations, audio files, media clips and digital video. They have stayed a little apart of the competence between Windows Media Player and RealPlayer, focusing recently in their bundle packages that include iTunes and support for its Safari browser, iPod, and iPhone handheld devices.
However, the facility to install the small Macromedia Flash plug-in, later acquired by Adobe Company, contributed to the actual popularity of video sharing websites. UTubeVideoClip is one of them and the right place to find a wide variety of videos classified by different topics that include UTube heroes, UTube movie trailers, and UTube for kids, just to name a few.
Perhaps the best approach to this site is visiting at first the most viewed videos on site at UTubevideoclip.com. As a video sharing website, members can upload their videos, get them rated, and see how popular they are on this website that is like the equivalent of a top-ten music list. Moreover, they offer you video hosting for those videos you want to share with the world, a feature that is not available on regular hosting websites that actually forbid the upload and stream of multimedia files.
You can also link and embed the available videos on your website, and today almost any computer is capable to play multimedia files with no hassle to enjoy UTubevideoclip.com in your spare time.
