It has been proven that the use of a security camera system can lessen crime rates and give accurate details about an incident which recently occurred. The security camera system is usually installed in major highways and streets to serve as eyes of police and traffic officials 24 hours a day.

Through a security camera system, monitoring criminals and reckless drivers even during late evenings and the wee hours of the morning is made easier. It has greatly contributed in traffic management and prevented traffic buildup especially in national highways where a large number of motorists travel everyday. With the help of a security camera system, key officials will be able to monitor traffic conditions on a 24 -hour basis and immediately send out personnel to resolve the problem. This will result in a quick response from the officials so they can solve crime or traffic problems in no time.

A security camera system is not just for crime purposes. This technology can also be used to monitor water level problems especially during the rainy season to prevent flood.

Another function of the security camera system is to work as an anti-crime tool helping authorities catch law breakers on the streets through the images it captures.

Traffic violators, criminals, road accidents, and the like can now be captured in full detail. Traffic cameras will be set up or installed along main roads or highways and other public places where the action takes places.

Similar to "speed camera" programs, which is mostly used in countries around the world, violators caught on tape will be sent a notice (most probably to the address indicated on the vehicle's registration) containing the details of their violation accompanied with a still photo to prove it. Violators will then have a maximum of seven days upon receipt of the notice to either file an appeal with the required officials or pay the fine. Failure to take action within that period will automatically result in the abating of the vehicle's registration and/or the owner's driver's license. This can lead to the non-renewal or suspension of the driver’s license.

This system was implemented before but this effort turned futile. Hope that this time they find more effective ways to help lessen the traffic as well as the number of crimes in the metro for us to live in a more organized community. Though sad to say that we must be monitored first before we do things accordingly, we all hope that these security camera systems will help improve everybody’s life.
