In most cases, females are one who are experiencing problem on acne. This is not because acne is picky on who it should affect, it is because women are more prone to hormonal changes. A woman can tell that her monthly period is about to come because she can feel and see some signs as an effect of her menstrual period. Aside from breast tenderness and mood swings, appearance of acne is also a clear sign of hormonal change. It is just like during the stage of adolescence where androgens are most likely to increase, however, not all women experience the same dilemma over and over again during the course of the upcoming menstrual period. Even during hormonal changes, oral contraceptives is said to be helpful to prevent acne. This should not be an option for pregnant women.

During the period of pregnancy for a woman, they are inclined towards hormonal changes and development of acne. Others say that this is a sign of bearing a baby boy since the androgen level in her body is fast increasing. Even if these events are unstoppable, acne can be cured and prevented by different ways, minus the raging hormones.
